2020-2021 Counseling Intern
* Mitchel is not taking new clients at this time *
Mitchel King received his BA in Psychology from UNCG and is currently working as a 2nd year master’s-level student at UNCG. He is working towards a specialization in couples and family counseling but also loves working with individuals. Mitchel likes to work collaboratively with clients while using interventions from multiple places such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered, Gestalt, and Mindfulness. He has a huge interest in working with all communities of people and values the unique differences that each individual brings with them to counseling. Mitchel's goal is to partner with clients in order to empower them to further their lives in a way that benefits them and fits their own truth. Mitchel enjoys using creative approaches likes art, music, and tapping/rhythm when appropriate. When Mitchel is not reading or studying for exams, he is probably: listening to music, learning about different cultures, exploring places to travel, watching cooking shows to get inspiration for new dishes, or spending time with his family, friends, and dog (Sage).
