Rebecca Levy, PhD, LMFT

Clinician

Dr. Levy is a PhD licensed couples and family therapist.  She completed her master's degree in couples and family therapy at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She went on to get her PhD in medical family therapy to better understand how mental health is woven into biological health.

Dr. Levy specializes in working with families and couples as well as individuals. Her lens is through a biological, psychological, and social lens where the individual is viewed in the larger contexts and their connection. Dr. Levy has extensive experience in working with those who struggle with physical illness and how it impacts one’s mental health. She has over 7 years working with health care providers and supporting them with their own mental health. Dr. Levy provides therapy for individuals over 18, couples, and families. She has a special interest in working with those who are going through life transitions, navigating health and mood concerns, family struggles.

Dr. Levy pulls from many frameworks of therapy but is grounded in narrative therapy where she guides the client in re-writing the narrative in their lives that is causing distress.  She wants to help you with your own experiences but not allow them to define you.

“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” -Brene Brown
