Macy Nesom, MS, LCMHCA, NCC
Macy received her BS in Human Development and Family Science from Oklahoma State University and earned her MS in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Macy’s clinical background is in couples and family therapy, however her background includes college counseling as well. Macy Provides services to individuals (14+) and has a special interest in working with individuals in the following areas: anxiety, depression, attachment and relational concerns, familial concerns, self-esteem, and identity/role changes.
For couples therapy, Macy utilizes Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT), which is backed by over 20 years of research on attachment and relationship patterns. Research shows that approximately 90% of couples show significant improvements.
As a counselor, Macy will collaborate with you to encourage a strengths-based approach. She believes that therapy is a unique experience for each person. It helps you learn about yourself, your relationships (past and present) and how you interact with the world. It can be a place to find healing and self-understanding. Macy believes that society and culture impact our thoughts, feelings, and relationships. As a counselor, her approach is integrative, but grounded in attachment theory.
