Clinician

Passionate about holistic wellness and empowering clients through the therapeutic process, Sara sees the counseling experience as an exciting opportunity to reconnect to one’s whole being and navigate the world with greater intention and awareness. Sara received her M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University in 2013. Prior to this, Sara spent time in the world of the arts and holds a B.A in Theatre from the University of Southern California.

Sara’s clinical experience began at The Anxiety and Stress Management Institute in the greater metro Atlanta area. After completing a yearlong internship with the institute, Sara stayed on as a full time counselor working with clients in both individual and group therapy. During this time, she received comprehensive training in treating the broad spectrum of anxiety disorders amongst other mental health issues.

In Sara’s counseling sessions, you can expect an approach that fosters a sense of collaboration, encourages curiosity and insight development. She is integrative, yet grounded in a humanistic framework, believing strongly in the individual’s innate capacity to heal and the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship. Her training in various empirically supported therapeutic modalities allow clients to access a diverse set of tools to customize therapy to best suit their individual needs. Such modalities include: cognitive-behavioral therapy, exposure response prevention, EMDR, brainspotting, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, psychodynamic and motivational interviewing. Additionally, Sara is a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and believes in the deep connection between mind and body. She is passionate about offering approaches to healing through movement and breath and assisting people in understanding the unique language of their bodies.

At Santé, Sara works with adolescents and adults with the following presenting concerns: anxiety disorders (GAD, social anxiety, health anxiety, phobias, panic attacks), depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, self-harm, trauma, grief, life transitions, LGBTQIA issues, women’s issues, body-focused repetitive behaviors, identity, self-esteem, and relationship concerns.
